Zermatt is often regarded as one of the top ski resorts in the world.

Sitting at 1,620m in the shadow of the awe-inspiring Matterhorn, the resort boasts arguably the best mountain-view in the world. Despite its ability to accommodate thousands of skiers it has retained the idyllic, chocolate-box charm of a small Swiss village.

Zermatt has three main ski areas including Sunnegga, Gornergrat and the Klein Matterhorn with skiing up to 3,900m. You can also ski over to Cervinia on the Italian for a pasta at lunch side or even into Champoluc which is itself connected to Alagna. All in all, an absolutely vast skiable region.

To complement the immense ski area, Zermatt also provides some of our favourite mountain restaurants serving a range of popular dishes such as the famous "rösti mit speck und ei", tomato soup (with gin), gambas, lamb Provençale to name but a few.

We started skiing here in 1980 and now even have family settled in the village so do get in touch for any restaurant recommendations!
