We've been skiing in Obergurgl since the 70s and have been returning year in, year out, like so many other repeaters.
At 1,930m Obergurgl has one of the highest altitudes of our resorts and is the highest parish in Austria. As such the resort is very snow-sure with skiing often possible right through to the end of the season.
Lift queues are a rarity and skiing along tree-lined routes is possible right down to the village. The set-up for families is excellent with facilities readily available for beginners and a wealth of easy, intermediate runs.
Equally, Obergurgl offers excellent skiing for the more experienced skier with some long bump runs and a variety of off-piste; in all, 24 lifts connect Obergurgl with Hochgurgl and Untergurgl.
Like our other resorts, the village has retained a wonderful Alpine charm and is largely crowd-free. There's also a small but lively après-ski scene. In summary, with its altitude and gentle charisma, Obergurgl remains a safe choice and you won't be disappointed.
