There are many reasons people come to Engelberg but one in particular always stands out; the Titlis run lasting a whopping 12 kilometres! With some of the highest skiing in Europe this Swiss resort has great potential for the experienced skier.

Like Alagna, Engelberg is not on the main circuit for British - or even native - skiers and yet we're not sure why. Perhaps it's because Engelberg's location has it nestled in a hidden valley in the middle of Switzerland. For us however, that adds to the appeal.

In reality it's very close to Zurich airport with a transfer time of about 90 minutes (but don't tell anyone we told you!).

The Swiss resort has not succumbed to the whims of the tourism world and as such has retained a wonderful sense of authenticity. The après-ski is absolutely fantastic and the picture postcard views cement the resort firmly in our list of favourites.
