ABOUT ALAGNA
![]() |
Alagna is a small village set in a dramatically steep valley, in the Northern Italian Alps close to the Swiss border. The Monterosa region boasts the largest off-piste ski area in Europe, with 180km of stunning pistes. Approximately two hours from Milan, Turin and Bergamo airports, it's well-placed for travellers. The area has a rich cultural history which provides the background to a unique, unspoilt and rustic community. This is manifested in the welcoming warmth of the local Walser people - welcoming to visitors but keen to preserve their way of life. |
New lifts have sprung up connecting Alagna to Gressoney and Champoluc in Italy's pursuit of its very own Trois Vallées. This has transformed Alagna from solely an off-piste resort to quite a different entity; Alagna retains its challenging nature but now allows access for skiers of all abilities. |
